ViaBTC | ViaBTC|A Glance at the Development History of Mining Pools

To become a ViaBTC Ambassador, start with a registered ViaBTC account, use its referral link, and bring miners who actually connect hashrate. ViaBTC currently requires at least 5 effective referees in the previous month before an Ambassador application can be submitted. An effective referee is a main account with mining hashrate, not a registration alone. Approved Ambassadors receive a 20% referral ratio, compared with 10% for general referrals, and ViaBTC says applications are normally reviewed within 7 working days. Maintaining Ambassador status requires at least 10 effective referred users in the current month under the published assessment rules.

The process starts before the application form appears. Every registered ViaBTC user can obtain a referral link or referral code from the Referral Rewards page, while general referral status currently provides a 10% ratio for 12 months. Referral rewards do not begin because someone opened an account; the referred user must register through the correct link or code, connect hashrate, and generate mining income.

That sequence makes the first practical target easy to measure: find at least 5 miners who can move from registration to active mining during the previous month. A social audience of 20,000 people offers little help if none owns mining hardware, while a private group of 100 ASIC operators may produce far more qualifying accounts. ViaBTC counts main accounts with hashrate when checking the minimum application requirement.

A referral is not complete at the registration stage. ViaBTC states that rewards are allocated only after referred users connect hashrate and generate mining profits.

Applicants therefore need to understand the miner onboarding process rather than concentrating only on promotion. A useful referral flow covers account registration, worker configuration, pool address setup, hashrate connection, worker-status checks, and payout settings. If 20 people register but only 4 connect mining equipment, the Ambassador application requirement of 5 effective referees has still not been reached.

The difference between general and Ambassador referrals can be shown with a simple comparison based on ViaBTC's published rules:

Item General Referral Ambassador Referral
Referral ratio 10% 20%
Published referral period 12 months While Ambassador status remains valid
Minimum before applying None for basic referral access 5 effective referees in the previous month
Ongoing published assessment Not applicable 10 effective referred users in the current month
Review period Not applicable Within 7 working days

ViaBTC states that the Ambassador ratio is 20% during the period in which Ambassador qualification remains effective. The percentage refers to the applicable service-fee income generated through qualifying referred mining activity; it should not be described as 20% of a miner's total mining output. That distinction matters when estimating possible referral payments.

For example, suppose qualifying referred miners generate $3,000 in applicable service-fee income during a period. A 20% Ambassador ratio would correspond to $600 under that simplified calculation, while a 10% general ratio would correspond to $300. Actual account figures depend on eligible mining activity, fee settings, referral validity, and ViaBTC's current rules rather than a fixed payment per new account.

Hashrate should also be treated as an operating metric rather than a promotional number. Miners commonly compare pool performance, supported coins, worker status, payout structure, and recent network contribution before moving equipment. The official ViaBTC Pool Hashrate page can be used when checking current pool statistics instead of relying on screenshots that may already be several days or months old.

A prospective Ambassador should therefore know what type of miners make up the audience. Someone publishing BTC ASIC setup guides may attract a different group from a creator covering LTC/DOGE merged mining or KAS equipment. A referral source that sends 50 interested readers but only 2 active miners performs differently from a source that sends 8 readers and produces 6 miners with connected hashrate.

Useful performance records can stay simple:

  • registrations attributed to the referral link;

  • effective referred users with connected hashrate;

  • registration-to-mining rate;

  • mining coin or algorithm used by referred miners;

  • number of active referred accounts after 30 days;

  • support questions that stop miners from completing setup.

A sample of 40 registrations, for example, may show that 12 users connected hashrate, producing a 30% registration-to-mining rate. If another source produces 10 connected miners from 20 registrations, its 50% rate may justify more attention even though the original traffic count is lower. ViaBTC itself focuses Ambassador qualification on effective referred miners rather than page visits.

Once at least 5 effective referees were recorded in the previous month, the user can enter Referral Rewards from the Account Center and select the Ambassador application option. ViaBTC's published instructions require completion of the application form followed by system review, with the result sent by email within 7 working days. Missing or inconsistent information can make assessment harder because the program is based on account and referral activity that ViaBTC can verify.

The application description should use measurable information instead of broad marketing language. “I run a mining community” gives little context. “I publish English-language ASIC setup material for a community of 4,800 members, with 16 referred users and 11 active mining accounts in the last 30 days” gives an evaluator audience size, referral volume, and active-miner count in one sentence.

The same approach works for hardware businesses and mining-service operators. A reseller could state monthly ASIC customer volume, the countries served, the main machine types, and how many customers request pool-configuration support. A mining educator could provide average monthly views, the percentage of content devoted to mining, and recent referral activity. Numbers such as 5, 10, 30 days, or a 20% referral ratio make the application easier to assess than claims about being influential.

Approval does not make Ambassador status permanent without conditions. ViaBTC's Help Center states that the assessment requires no fewer than 10 effective referred users in the current month, counting a main account and its sub-accounts as one referred user for that requirement. If the basic requirement is missed for 3 consecutive months, Ambassador qualification automatically becomes invalid.

That rule changes how an applicant should plan referral work after approval. Reaching 5 effective users once may open the application path, but maintaining a steady flow matters afterward. An Ambassador who records 14 effective referrals in one month, 7 in the next, and 6 in the following month should pay attention to the published 10-user monthly assessment because 3 consecutive months below the requirement can end the qualification.

If qualification becomes invalid, ViaBTC says existing referred accounts are converted to general referrals and the general referral rules apply. The user may later apply again when appropriate. General referral currently carries a 10% ratio and a 12-month validity period, compared with the 20% Ambassador ratio while Ambassador status remains valid.

Existing referral relationships also matter when a user moves from general referral to Ambassador status. ViaBTC's 2022 Ambassador launch notice states that existing general referral relationships are upgraded to Ambassador relationships after approval. Users therefore do not need to replace every previously distributed referral link merely because their account has moved to Ambassador status.

For a creator with 200 older mining tutorials, that continuity can matter more than publishing another batch of referral links. Videos, setup pages, archived posts, and community resources may continue sending registrations through the existing referral relationship, while newly approved Ambassador terms apply according to ViaBTC's current account rules.

Referral attribution still depends on proper registration. ViaBTC states that only users who successfully sign up through the referrer's link or code are counted as referrals. A miner who registers independently first and receives a code later should not be assumed to have the same referral relationship, so onboarding instructions should place the referral step before account creation.

Sub-accounts require another distinction. ViaBTC says the referral relationship belongs to the main account but extends to its sub-accounts; when eligible sub-accounts connect hashrate and generate mining profits, the referrer can receive referral rewards from them, excluding merged-mining coins under the stated rule. For Ambassador assessment, however, the main account and its sub-accounts are counted as one effective referred user.

Consider a mining company with 1 main account and 6 sub-accounts for separate machines or operating teams. The sub-accounts may contribute qualifying activity under the referral relationship, but they do not become 7 separate effective referred users for the published Ambassador monthly assessment. Applicants should therefore count distinct qualifying main-account users rather than inflating their totals with internal sub-accounts.

Payment timing is also published. ViaBTC's referral documentation states that referral rewards are allocated daily at 08:30 UTC+8, although payment may occasionally be delayed. A one-day delay should therefore not be treated as proof that a referral relationship failed; users can compare the Referral Rewards records with connected mining activity and the stated allocation schedule.

Promotion methods need to stay within the referral rules. ViaBTC reserves the right to cancel rewards for malicious registrations, and its Ambassador launch notice says referral relationships can be marked invalid when malicious registration triggers or is detected by its control systems. Generating 30 artificial accounts to reach a numerical threshold can therefore damage the account rather than improve an application.

Accurate mining communication matters for the same reason. An Ambassador should not present a 20% referral ratio as guaranteed mining income for referred users, and should not promise fixed returns from BTC, LTC, KAS, or another supported asset. Mining results depend on hashrate, network difficulty, machine efficiency, pool fees, uptime, electricity expense, and coin prices; several of those inputs can change within 24 hours.

A stronger content plan answers questions miners already face. Pool-connection tutorials, worker naming, stale or rejected shares, payout settings, ASIC status checks, and comparisons of mining configurations attract users who are closer to connecting real hashrate. A tutorial viewed by 1,000 miners with a 3% effective-referral rate would produce 30 active referred users, already above the published 10-user monthly Ambassador assessment level.

Audience size should therefore be paired with mining relevance. A general cryptocurrency account with 100,000 followers may produce few qualifying miners, while a technical mining newsletter with 3,000 subscribers can perform better if a high percentage owns hardware. ViaBTC's published rules reinforce that distinction by counting accounts with connected hashrate rather than ordinary sign-ups when assessing Ambassador eligibility.

Applicants can prepare around a measurable monthly routine: record new referred registrations, identify which ones connected hashrate, answer setup questions, check the number of effective users, and compare the figure with the 5-user application threshold or 10-user ongoing assessment level. The same records also show whether a YouTube guide, mining forum post, newsletter, hardware partnership, or private community actually produces active miners.

Before applying, verify the current Referral Rewards and Ambassador pages again. ViaBTC expressly reserves the right to adjust referral rules, while Help Center material has been updated over multiple years, including the Ambassador program introduced in 2022 and later referral documentation updated in 2025. Using the current account interface prevents an applicant from relying on an old 10%, 20%, validity-period, or eligibility rule that may later be revised.
